The way will be paved for presentation of Iranian books in the French book market
Regarding his meeting with the director of the International Bureau of French Publishing, the Head of Tehran Publishers and Booksellers Association said, "In this meeting, it was decided that the way is paved for presentation of Iranian books in the French book market."
In an interview with the IBNA reporter, Mahmoud Amouzegar stated, "Today, (May 11) Jean-Guy Boin, director of the International Bureau of French Publishing, and Olivier Aristide, director of Centrale de l'Edition, had a meeting with Seyyed Abbas Salehi, the Cultural Deputy of Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, in the 30th TIBF."
He continued, "In that meeting, cultural affairs between the two countries, exchange of experiences, attending the book fairs of the other side and education in the field of publishing were discussed."
The two French guests had a meeting with Mr. Amouzegar as well.
In this regard, he explained, "Given that previously delegations from Iran (private sector) visited French publishing houses, educational centers, and faculties for publishing industry. In this meeting, it was agreed to continue such visits and since the French Government supports the translation and publication of French works into other languages through a grant plan, they were asked to announce to the Book Committee of French Embassy to be more active regarding the grant plan."
Amouzegar added, "As the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance has a similar plan for translation of Persian works into other languages, both sides hope that through this plan, right exchanges will increase and the way will be paved for presentation of more Iranian books in the French book market."
