Translation of Literary works is the best Way for the Introduction of Nations

The Deputy of Cultural Affairs of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in his meeting with the High Counselor of the Serbian Minister of Culture and Information, emphasized on the translation of literary works between the two countries saying, “We must consider that translation of literary works is the best way for the introduction of nations and it can lead into building a literary bridge between countries.”
According to a report by the Public Relations of the Deputy of Cultural Affairs, Mohsen Javadi had a meeting with the High Counselor of the Serbian Minister of Culture and Information to talk about the presence of Serbia as the Guest of honor in the Thirty First Tehran International Book Fair. 
In this meeting, Javadi, The Deputy of Cultural Affairs of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, pointed out to the presence of Serbia as the Guest of honor in the Tehran International Book Fair 2018. He said, “This presence is an excellent opportunity to introduce the Serbian culture and literature. It can also be an opportunity to develop and deepen the cultural relations between the two countries.”
He added, “Given that traveling between the two countries needs no visa, the book fair is a proper occasion for the Iranian people to get familiar with the Serbian history and culture. This cultural event is an opportunity to change the picture that the Iranian people have in mind about Serbia.”
In the meeting, Javadi emphasized on the necessity of the interaction between Iranian and Serbian writers stating that, “We will be quite pleased to have renowned and young writers of Serbia in the TIBF to talk about the literature of their countries.”
He added, “Of course, along with these programmes, we can provide the necessary facilities for the translation of works from both languages through signing MoUs. For this purpose, we may make a list of selected books for translation. We must consider that translation of literary works is the best way for the introduction of nations and it can lead into building a literary bridge between countries. We can also collaborate to pave the way for the interaction of the writers and translators so that they can comfortably talk about the literary works and their translation.”
Javadi also talked about the promotion of interactions in the field of cultural industries and products. He emphasized that, “Through providing the necessary infrastructures, we can make it possible to interact in the field of cultural industries and products so that the artists can participate in these activities as well.”
Based on this report, the meeting continued with conversations about the presence of Serbian publishers in the book fair, the programmes considered by the Guest of Honor, events considered by Iran for the Guest of Honor during the book fair as well as agreements with the publishers for translations of the works. 
It is noteworthy that in this meeting Homyoun Amirzadeh and Amir Masoud Shahramnia attended as well.
