Head of youth organization terms TIBF event a cultural rendezvous

Head of IRI National Youth Organization described Tehran International Book Fair as a rendezvous for cultural exchanges between authors and their audiences.

 

Homayun Hamidi told the book fair's press office Wednesday that the cultural aspect of any activity in the country was more significant than any other aspects "as social beliefs and norms are developed through the cultural sector."

 

The Iranian authority called the book fair a major factor in the development and formation of thoughts nationwide, adding that with a rendezvous set up for men of culture in the book fair's venue, the cultural event could play an effective role in facilitating an exchange of views between authors of different publications and their audiences.

 

In another regard, Head of IRI National Youth Organization said a strong welcome by the Iranian youths to the book fair shows an increase in the amount of time the age group spends in book reading.

 

The 24^th edition of Tehran International Book Fair runs until May 14.
