Up to 62,000 copies of foreign titles worth nearly 5,117,000 euros were sold in seven days in the 24th edition of Tehran International Book Fair, according to a report by the book fair's international sales office.

The foreign titles were on show in the international hall of the landmark cultural event which is set to run until May 14, the book fair's press office reported Thursday.

Branches of Iran Saderat Bank, stationed in the fairground, have operated the sales applications.

Meanwhile, initial estimates show that direct sales in the halls of Latin and Arabic titles have fetched twice the amount of the bank-operated, currency-based sales, the international sales office added.
