The Most Important Activities of the TIBF International Committee

1. Tehran International Book Fair will host Istanbul as its first Special City Guest. The cultural authorities of Istanbul will participate in various events of the book fair. A delegation of eight from this city will participate in the book fair of which four are among the outstanding writers from Turkey. 
2. Italy will attend as the Guest of Honor. A “Literary Bridge between the two Countries” has started for months through holding specialized meetings and forums in both Iran and Italy. In this edition of the Tehran International Book Fair, an Italian delegation of 32 including high-rank authorities and 12 literary and art writers will participate. In addition to forums and meetings attended by both Italian and Iranian writers, there will be an “Italy’s Day” in the TIBF. 
3. The variety of the participating countries has increased in this edition of the TIBF and this will dramatically enhance the cultural diplomacy. Chile, Sweden, Ecuador, Finland, Austria, Serbia and India are among the countries or embassies that are participating for the first time. More than 20 countries will have their own stands in this section: Germany, Russia, Finland, Turkey, Sweden, Austria, Italy, Armenia, Serbia, Mexico, Ecuador, Chile, Oman, Afghanistan, Japan, India, Lebanon, China, and Iraq. 
4. For the first time, some publishers, translators, and literary agencies will attend the book fair through a scholarship granted by the TIBF to 10 persons. So far, some of them have been selected from Egypt, Armenia, Japan, Italy, Switzerland, and Oman.   
5. This edition of the TIBF will host 14 directors of different foreign book fairs from countries such as Austria, Serbia, Hungary, France, Italy and Russia. 
6. The Right Centre activities have increased through the participation of active Iranian publishers in the international arena as well as the institutes for translation grant and publishing Iranian books in the international markets. 
7. An MoU for participation of Iran as the Guest of Honor in China and vice versa will be signed in this edition of the TIBF. A Chinese delegation of 14 will attend. The MoU will be signed by the Cultural Deputies from Iran and China’s Cultural Ministries.
