Iranian Publishing to be introduced at Istanbul Book Fair

The 37th Istanbul International Book Fair kicked off today with Iranian representatives in attendance.
According to the public relations office of Iran’s Cultural Fairs Institute which represents the publishing industry of our country, Iran’s stand in this event measures 12 square meters. 270 books in a variety of subjects such as fiction, Iranian studies, art, the Sacred Defense as well as works for children and young adults are put on public display in the stand.
Pol Literary Agency is also working in the Iranian stand. Meetings on the resistance literature are held with the participation of Iranian authors and publishers as well as the translator of the sacred Defense book ‘Da’.
The other programs of Iran in this edition of Istanbul Book Fair include, introducing the Grant Plan aimed to foster the translation of Persian books into foreign languages; and inviting foreign publishers for participation at the upcoming Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF).
Last year, 820 participants from 22 countries attended the event while 740,000 people visited the book fair and 300 programs were held on the sidelines.
The 37th Istanbul International Book Fair will be running from November 9 to 17, however the international section will work until November 12.
