Mehdi Birdal, the manager of the publishers' section of Kosar Publications in Istanbul, Türkiye, participated in the 35th Tehran International Book Fair.
According to him, this is the tenth year he has participated in this fair, and the main goal of their company has been to publish religious books from Türkiye. However, they have also showcased cultural and literary books from their country.
He believes that books play an important role in cultural development, and he explained his purpose of participating by saying,
"We wanted the people of Iran to get to know Türkiye better and for us to try to understand Iran more."
Mehdi Birdal continued that another reason for his presence at the fair is to make a mark on the international stage and at the same time be a cultural ambassador between the two nations.
In conclusion, Mr. Birdal pointed out the problems and disadvantages of cyberspace, highlighting its impact on books and reading. He mentioned that the audience should know that the main difference between these two spaces is that in cyberspace, lies are easily spread and even more easily denied, whereas in books, not only is there no lie printed, but a book remains a lasting and eternal work and should not lose its value and status among people.
