Iranian Parliament Speaker, Ali Larijani says Tehran International Book Fair displays the essence of the Iranian nation.

The senior authority made the remarks in a closing ceremony for the landmark cultural event.

The parliament speaker said TIBF figures point to a growth in the number of titles as well as the establishment of favorable opportunities for critical dialogue on the status of publication in Iran.

The parliament speaker said western countries sought to negatively affect the resolve of the Iranian nation however the book fair shows the Iranian nation always pursues its cultural affairs despite the existing problems.

The parliament speaker said the huge welcome to the book fair and publications as a whole shows the western efforts have been futile.
