Book reading helps guarantee healthy choices in daily life – Author

An author and expert in children and youngster publication affairs told a subject panel on "School students' research needs" that individuals must not settle for a single theme in their book reading activities, adding since because our choices are underpinned by our beliefs, ideological studies should accompany vocational and entertainment studies in daily life.
The panel discussion was staged on May 5 in the marquee of children and youngsters publishers in the 23rd book fair.
Javad Mohaqeq only those parents might expect to rear up book enthusiasts who themselves show enthusiasm in book reading.
The expert classified research needs of children and youngsters into three major categories of ideological, occupational and entertainment studies, adding that ideological studies top the sorts of studies every individual needs from as children and later in the life.
"Regardless of what a religion we practice, all of us hold some faith" and beliefs. We are in need of ideological studies at all times because our choices form based on our beliefs," the author said, adding that given the studies are not paid due attention in childhood, it could give rise to problems later in the life.
"Our awareness guarantees our healthy choices," he opined.
Mohaqeq said a second and third category was occupational or pedagogical studies as well as entertainment studies respectively while all people are in need of the latter.
"All of us regardless of our beliefs or occupations have certain personal interests which must be paid due attention," the author said.
