Top publishers awarded in 24th TIBF event

TIBF jury voted Saturday to choose several domestic publishers from a legion of participants in the 24th edition of Tehran International Book Fair, the book fair's press office reported Sunday.

 

The jury announced the shortlist after taking views of publication experts, observers of the show halls and the guild associations involved in the organization and operation of the domestic section of the book fair, the report said.

 

The policy committee of the landmark event had already declared a set of standards for qualifying a jury vote, namely the way a publisher treats visitors, the way it observes the rules and regulations set by the TIBF committee, the way it decorates and lays out its fair space, the way it observes Islamic codes of behavior in public in the book fair, the way it cooperates with the book fair's managers, levels of participation and presence of publication managers in the fair space, and, finally, levels of conformity of their publications with social needs and demands.

 

Top publishers voted by the jury are categorized as follows.

 

Private publishers of general contents

Tehran-based publishers:

In this section, two publishers, named "Negar" (chum) and "Payam-e Azadi" (message of freedom) were jointly voted as top publisher.

 

Provincial-based publishers

In this section, "Seta're-ha" (stars) from Khorasan-e Razavi Province was voted as top publisher

 

State publishers of general contents

In this section, "Elmi va Farhangi" (scientific and cultural) was voted as top publisher.

 

Publisher of academic contents

In this section, "Olum-e Rayaneh" (computer sciences) was voted as top publisher and "Shahr'ab" (water city) was appreciated.

 

Publisher of children and youngsters contents

Private publishers

In this section, "Qadiyani" was voted as top publisher.

State publishers:

In this section, "Monadi-ya Tarbi'at" (herald of nurture) was voted as top publisher.

 

Publishers of educational contents:

In this section, "Kanoun-e Farhangi-ye Amouzesh" (Amouzesh cultural center) was appreciated.

 

Special section:

The jury in this section voted to an ad hoc pavilion, set up by Qom Publishers and Book Sellers Cooperative Company, in commemoration of memory of Hadhrat Fatema (S.A.), the noble daughter of the last messenger of Allah, Hadhrat Muhammad (S.A.), where publications and works on the lifestyle, attitude and role of the esteemed personality were on show.

 

The ad hoc pavilion grabbed the award for its nice treatment of the visitors, adequate collection of relevant works and publications, effective layout and decoration, staging of diversified and effective sidelines events and diversity of titles on stalls.
