Tehran International Book Fair serves as a rendezvous of all types of thought and proves peerless worldwide in some respects, Ishaq Salahi, curator of the IRI National Library said during an inspection of the landmark international event Friday.
‘Books serve as the best reference for judging on the achievements of any generation in any country as they help collect and show the views of that generation,’ Mr. Salahi told the TIBF press office.
Also serving as a presidential aide, Mr. Salahi said the cultural event was unique in the Middle East in all respects and remained unchallenged worldwide in terms of the number of visits it is paid. ‘The book fair provides evidence of the rich cultural attitude of the Iranian nation in the past and presence,’ Mr. Salahi said.
The aide to president thanked the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance for its diligent efforts in the staging of the landmark cultural event, adding that the 21st century was the time of clash of civilizations according to some foreign scholars who divide the world into religious civilizations of Islam, Christianity, Confucius and Anglo-Saxon.
Mr. Salahi said the Islamic Republic of Iran was engaged in a major cultural campaign in the 21st century and would not win the battle unless it makes its best of all capacities on the ground.
The Curator of the IRI National Library said the Iranian nation has a great, millennia-year-old civilization to offer to the world, adding that the great asset can help the nation to secure a major say in the international scene.
