A best selling Iranian author considered the ‘Islamic Awakening’ section in the 25th edition of Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) as essential and helpful, adding that the current regional Islamic Awakening movement provides the nations with a model for gaining independence.
The special section is dedicated to the ongoing Islamic Awakening movement in the Middle East and South African countries, otherwise erroneously called by the mainstream western media as ‘Arab spring.’
Sayyed Naser Husseinpour told the TIBF press office that the Islamic Awakening movement was a vital and sensitive issue and that the TIBF authorities could live up to the status of the movement by setting up the special section.
Author of “a foot that was left behind,” a bestselling real story about the eight-year Iranian Sacred Defense against the western-backed invading forces of Saddam Hussein (1980-88), called the Islamic Awakening movement as a paramount issue in the international scene.
Mr. Husseinpour took to the battlefield as a voluntary force at the age of 14. He was held captive by the Iraqi forces two years later. The book recounts his diaries while in captivity for 808 days in secret Iraqi prisons.
Over 40,000 copies of the 768-page bestseller have already been sold out in three months.
A nineteenth edition of the book has been published and presented by Sura Mehr in the 25th edition of Tehran International Book Fair.
