Senegalese ambassador invites Iran to Dakar’s book fair

Senegalese Ambassador to Tehran, Baba Karba has invited the Islamic Republic to take part in Dakar’s annual international book fair.
The senior diplomat made the call in an interview with the press office of the 28th Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF).
Karba also expressed surprise at the huge public welcome to Tehran book fair that is underway in the Iranian capital.
The senior diplomat highlighted the cultural status of Senegal among African nations, adding his country hosts the largest library in Africa and that the population could freely exercise freedom of expression.
Asked about Persian works translated into Wolof, the senior diplomat said early Senegalese graduates of Persian language in Iran took up the assignment however meager work has been made in this regard.
The 28th Tehran International Book Fair started work in Tehran on May 6 under the motto of ‘reading as talking to the world.’ It runs until May 16.
