
The Tehran International Book Fair: a Bridge for Cultural Relationships

After saluting the Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, the literati, and other audiences, the Deputy of the Tunisian Minster of Culture in the opening ceremony of the Thirty First Tehran International Book Fair said, “Undoubtedly this presence indicates a very high level of relationships between the two countries of Iran and Tunisia and acting as a cultural bridge, it promotes the relationships between the two countries.”
Addressing the Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Amal Hashanah said, “We are pleased that in this edition of the Tehran international book fair, we are present in a country with a rich culture and we are given the very opportunity to share our culture in the fields of books and technology with the Iranian people.”
She added, “We are continually working for cultural cooperation to be able to have positive collaborations both qualitatively and quantitatively.”
The Deputy of the Tunisian Minster of Culture continued, “Also we are ready for exchanging cultural experiences in fields such as arts, innovations, and collaborations in the field of cultural heritage and we will try to have mutual contributions in music and cinema as well.”
She stated, “With our presence in the Tehran International Book Fair, we are trying to show a true visage of Tunisia and we are open to different. We teach the laws of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Tunisia as these laws support values.”
Stating that Iran is a country that welcomes all cultures, Hashanah indicated that, “In Tunisia, we try to preserve and protect our cultural heritage. Also in our governmental policy making we try to study more and more as this will protect our civilization heritage. In addition, we are planning to encourage our students at preschool and kindergarten levels to read more.”
In the end, she said, “We have made special provision for new libraries. Our next project is to set up a cultural town in which all the technological experts, and literary figures are invited to make it the cultural capital of Tunisia.”
