Ahmed Awad, an author, journalist, and PhD student of Political Science born in Gaza, was the guest of the Palestine pavilion, which is represented by the Joint Committee of Iranian and Palestinian Students at the Tehran International Book Fair, and pointed to the issue of Gaza and Palestine in the region.
He referred to the relationship between the Iranian nation and Palestine as a special relationship and mentioned the reasons for the common enemy of the two countries, as well as the importance of the Palestinian issue for Muslim countries and Iran. He added that Iran played an important role in the Palestinian resistance.
Ahmed Awad emphasized that to face Israel's influence in the media and its use as a weapon for a psycho-cultural war, the book can be a powerful and appropriate response with which we can respond to psychological cultural attacks The Palestinian-Israeli war is not military, but a full-fledged cultural, religious, psychological and military war that should be considered in all aspect, and this war will include several generations since Israel has also attacked Palestinian culture. He also noted that during the past eight months, 24 authors have been martyred 18 cultural and specialized institutions of literature, 14 of the Great Libraries, and 400 Schools and universities were completely destroyed in Gaza. Ahmed Awad believed that all these events were planned and deliberately targeted the history and culture of Palestine and that the cultural field played a key role in the fight against Israel. He also referred to the words of Dr. Fath Shaghaghi: «Culturists are the first militant people and the last to fail»
The same situation in Palestine has made it harder to read books, but the Palestinian people are doing their best so that today's generation does not stay out of education and in tents or wherever possible, the classroom is set up to raise a well-educated generation for the future of Palestine, even though they are in a state of war. He pointed out that even a few of his friends held their thesis defense meetings in tents.
The Palestinian nation, according to Awad, is grateful to Iran and Iranians since they are a nation of books and culture and have a special view of Palestine, and the existence of the Palestinian pavilion itself indicates these words. He continued that the Palestinian people have a great value and interest in Iran and the Iranian point of view on this country, and Iran's place in the culture of the region is topical. The Iranian nation is also a model of defense of human rights and the martyrs and commanders of the Islamic Revolution are dear to the Palestinians.
He went on to mention that in the recent attack (wade Sadiq) the Palestinian people felt for the first time that they were not alone and that there was a powerful support behind them. it was also the first time They felt the fear of Israel.
He continued that the production of knowledge about Palestine in Iranian publications is very high, but sometimes there is a need for a deep setting to be done so that the audience and the reader of the book can feel those experiences and not just read it, and it is also better to be translated into other languages so that this literature can be presented to the world.
Finally, he stated that he had been settled in Iran with his family for two months, but he felt that he was in his second home and country and was among his own people. He also hoped to be a good representative for the Palestinian people and the Palestinian issue in Iran.
