According to the Public Relations Office of the 36th Tehran International Book Fair, Ahmed Fakak Al-Badrani stated:
“At the Tehran Book Fair, minds and thoughts converge, teaching the world that peaceful coexistence is better than conflict.”

Ahmed Fakak Al-Badrani, Iraq’s Minister of Culture and Tourism, attended the opening ceremony of the 36th Tehran International Book Fair and spoke to reporters on the sidelines of the event.
“Iraq is honored to be the Guest of Honor at the Tehran Book Fair. I sincerely thank the Iranian authorities for providing this opportunity,” he said.

He continued:
“There are numerous commonalities between the two lands of Iran and Iraq — from customs and traditions to heritage, religions, and ancient civilizations. The roots that connect Iran and Iraq stem from both the earth and history.”

The Iraqi Minister added:
“Some of the oldest human civilizations emerged in the lands of Iran and Iraq. These civilizations taught humanity how to read, how to write, and how to think.”

Commenting on the scale and setting of the event, he noted:
“It is no surprise to see the Tehran Book Fair held with such grandeur and in such a remarkable venue, with wide participation from Arabic publishers. The minds and thoughts of nations come together here. New ideas are born — ideas that teach the world that living peacefully on this earth is far better than conflict. This way of life is what all thinkers, geniuses, philosophers, reformers, religious figures, and humanists have emphasized throughout history.”

In conclusion, Al-Badrani said:
“Iran is a neighborly and friendly country, and there are many shared elements between Iran and Iraq. We in Iraq are truly honored to be the Guest of Honor at the Tehran Book Fair.”

The 36th Tehran International Book Fair is being held from May 7 to May 17, 2025, at Imam Khomeini’s Mosalla under the slogan “Let’s Read for Iran.” Alongside the physical exhibition, the virtual edition is available through book.icfi.ir, providing an online platform for book enthusiasts to make purchases.
