IBNA - In order to coordinate the activities relevant to holding the 27th Tehran International Book Fair and remove the problems occurred in some previous editions of this event, a seminar attended by the Deputy Culture Minister, Abbas Salehi was held yesterday.

As IBNA correspondent reported, in the last editions of the 27th Tehran International Book Fair a number of publishers and people faced with problems which caused them to be dissatisfied. This year the Deputy Culture Minister and the organizers of the TIBF held a session in the Cinema Hall of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance to consider the possible problems. The decision was fueled by the fact that TIBF is a major national and international event visited by about 6 million people.
At the beginning, the Deputy Culture Minister, Abbas Salehi said: “From last November, we began to discuss with publishers’ representatives and book experts on the principal functions of the TIBf, and realize the advantages and disadvantages of the earlier editions of the event to face the task of holding the TIBF with the least possible problems.”
“Our main policy has been centered on serving the publishers and people in terms of transportation, traffic, providing information, and other services, this way, we were able to reduce the earlier problems by 70%,” He asserted.
“Unlike the former editions of the TIBF, we were also successful in increasing the level of communication and interaction with the publishers which is so promising,” Salehi said.
The Deputy Culture Minister went on to say: “The TIBF has three key features including the marketing aspect, the scientific aspect and the cultural aspect and we tried to improve all these aspects in parallel.”
“From one hand we planned to improve the academic and scientific aspect of the TIBF by holding special scientific gatherings and the new plans are also being implemented to boost this aspect of the book Fair,” he stated.
“On the other hand, we should also bear in mind that some families including parents and children who visit the TIB at are less involved in scientific features and we must provide entertainment and comfort for them,” Salehi added.
The Deputy Culture Minister also spoke on the plans for beautifying the location of the book fair and the publisher's booths: “We will offer special discounts to the publishers who are interested in beautifying their places.”
The 27th Tehran International Book Fair will run from April 31 - May 10 in the Grand Mosalla of Imam Khomeini in Tehran.
