According to the news arm of the House of Authors, Kazazi, also a university professor, started the session by enquiring why the Iranians love Shahnameh and consider its author as the greatest of Iranian rhetors and that why Ferdowsi is the mentor of mentors of Persian literature and his magnum opus is the masterpiece of all works of literature.
Author of 'Nameh Bastan' (letter of ancient time) book volumes noted that Shahnameh was not regarded lofty and invaluable by Iranians alone rather its literary beauty and magnificent majesty is acclaimed worldwide. "Ferdowsi seems exceptional in world in terms of rhetor and oration," he added.
Kazazi opined that what has helped make Ferdowsi an exceptional rhetor and his Shahnameh a magnificent and landmark masterpiece would have been the historical and cultural function of the work and the social attitude of the author. "The feat of Ferdowsi in authoring the Shahnameh was that it helped bond the fate of
"Given Ferdowsi was absent from the hard and touchy juncture of Iranian history as he lived in, very likely, we would not have gathered now as Iranians here and would not have talked with one another in the emotional and rousing Persian language," the university professor noted.
He said Shahnameh was more than just a literary masterpiece. "Shanameh is a norm-setting, landmark and attitude-mending letter. Iranians see their reticent, fixed, historical and cultural nature and being reposed in the masterpiece. Shahnameh has cast what I call the Iranian lineage unconsciousness," he added.
Kazazi who has rendered Homer's Iliad and Odyssey into Persian noted that any Iranian owes his being Iranian and his honor in being an Iranian to Shahnameh and Ferdowsi. "This single function of Shahnameh is exceptional per se however because this festival is rolled by ECO cultural institute, I deem it appropriate to speak about another function of Shahnameh and that is the worldwide and overseas function of Shahnameh," Kazazi said.
"You know the cultural boundaries of Iran is far more extensive than its present time geographical borders as in the ups and downs of history, parts of the land have been separated so that we know territories now that once belonged to land of Iran but currently go separate countries," he said.
