Top publishers of past Iranian calendar year awarded

Board of Judges decreed the country's top publishers in the peat Iranian year, ended March 21.

According to the news arm of the 22nd Tehran International Book Fair, Nashr-e Ney was decreed by the board as the best publisher in the category of adult-related publishers, sub-category of private publishers. Dalil-e Ma publisher based in the provincial center of Qom, 120km south of Tehran was chosen as best non-capital based publisher.

In this category, Ansariyan publisher received honors for its record in promotion of Islamic culture and successful presence in overseas book fairs.

In the same adult category, Soure Mehr and Qom-based Boostan-e Ketab publishers jointly received the award of best state-run publisher. Also, two publishers affiliated to Office of Islamic Propagation were honored in the category. These are run by Islamic Culture and Thought Research Center and Islamic Culture and Sciences Research Center.

In the category of children-related private publishers, the board of judges granted best awards to the two publishers of Peidayesh and Mehrab-e Qalam. No non-capital-based publisher could qualify the prize in the category.

In the category of children-related, state-funded publishers, the two publishers of Borhan School Cultural Institute and Center of Intellectual Promotion of Children and Youngsters jointly received best award.

 

Top publishers of 22nd TIBF awarded

Final day of 22nd Tehran International Book Fair was wrapped with board of judges awarding top pavilions among general publishers, university publishers, educational publishers, children publishers and non-capital-based publishers in the two private and state-run categories.

The board of judges in the 22nd TIBF chose best publishers after taking into account several qualifications, namely publication of useful, serious books, diversity and number of titles, number of first edition books, size and content of fringe activities in the fair, treatment of visitors, observance of book fair regulations, decoration and design of pavilion and finally cooperation with directors of halls and other book fair authorities.

The list of award categories and best pavilions follows.

 

A- General publishers

1- State sector

Center of Documents and Library of Islamic Consultative Assembly (parliament) was awarded as best pavilion in the state sector for showing best performance in terms of publication of serious and useful books, decoration and design of pavilion, observance of rules and regulations, cooperation with hall directors.

 

2- Private sector

Fatemi publisher was given best pavilion reward in the private sector for showing best performance in terms of diversity and number of releases, treatment of visitors, cooperation with hall directors, and observance of rules and regulations of book fair.

 

B- University publishers

1- State sector

Organization of Study and Compilation of Human Sciences Books (SAMT) was awarded as best pavilion in the state sector for diversity of titles, publication of serious and useful books, treatment of visitors, and observance of rules and regulations of book fair.

 

1- Private sector

From among the four top publishers of Ayizh, Arjmand, Mizan and Nas, the Ayizh publisher was awarded as best pavilion in the private sector for diversity and number of titles, publication of serious and useful books, heed of social needs, and observance of rules and regulations of book fair.

 

C- Educational domain publishers

 

1- State sector

No publisher was awarded in this category.

 

2- Private sector

From among the three top publishers of Mobtakeran, Golvazhe and Gaj, Mobtakeran was awarded best pavilion in the private sector for diversity and number of titles, heed of social needs, treatment of visitors, observance of rules and regulations of book fair, as well as decoration and design of pavilion. It is noteworthy that the vote of the publisher's managing director was not involved n the award.

 D – Children domain publishers

1- State sector

No publisher was awarded in this category.

 2- Private sector

From among the four top publishers of Ofoq, Qalamchi, Panjereh and Qadiyani, the Ofoq publisher was given best publisher award for diversity and number of titles, heed of social needs, size and content of fringe activities, and observance of rules and regulations of book fair.

 

 E- Non-capital-based publishers

1- Adult sector

Asra was awarded as best publisher for publication of serious and useful books, treatment of visitors, observance of book fair rules and regulations, cooperation with hall directors. Arkan-e Danesh publisher (university sector) was honored in this category.

 

2- Children sector

Orouj was given best award for size and content of fringe activities, treatment of visitors, and observance of rules and regulations of book fair. Hadis-e Neinava publisher was honored in this category.
