Culture Ministry to stage book fairs countrywide

Head of the 22nd Tehran International Book Fair, Mohsen Parviz told a closing ceremony of 22nd TIBF Saturday that the eleven-day fest and affinity was wrapped without any accidents in the venue.
Also Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Parviz promised that the Ministry will procure staging of book fairs across the country.
He thanked the corps of culture and pen including authors, critics, state and private institutions and mass media specially those who diligently provided news coverage to the fair. Parviz appreciated the media for their shrewd coverage of the book fair developments and expressed hope the shrewd performance would become institutionalized throughout the country and no events would go unheeded by the media in future.
Head of the Tehran International Book Fair then touched on a no-change status in the prices of pavilions for the past three years and called on all publishers to cover the costs of their pavilions in full.
He then touched on the eye-catching welcome accorded by people to the fair, adding that the warm welcome was an incentive for a drive to stage large book fairs in provinces.
Parviz also noted that in light of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's remarks in the inaugural ceremony, there were some projects on agenda regarding narrative literature and children books.
Parviz concluded his remarks by offering gratitude to women staff in the fair "who safeguarded their Hijab in the hard working days," adding that citations will be handed to several hundreds of these women.
