Customs office clears half of materials of 32 foreign publishers

IRI Customs Office have cleared half of materials dispatched by 32 foreign publishers, Deputy of international section in the 23rd International Tehran Book Fair said.

 

Ali Alipour told the press office of the 23rd book fair that customs procedures have been completed for the publishers from several countries including Syria, Egypt, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Britain, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Austria and Turkey.

 

Alipour said the list also include publishers from Russia, South Korea, Armenia, India, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Georgia, China, Tajikistan, Pakistan, France, Japan, Greece, United States of America, Jordan and Kurdistan of Iraq.

 

He noted that publishers from Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) member states were not required to have their publications through customs procedures.

 

Alipour also noted that Georgia solely stages cultural and literary panels in this edition of book fair, adding that publishers from ECO member states and other publishers in Tehran International Book Fair have acquired pavilions and would offer publications.

 

23rd International Tehran Book Fair opens on May 5, 2010 at Imam Khomeini Grand Mosque north of Tehran. The major event runs until May 25.
