Director of National Public Libraries Office called Tehran Book Fair a global statement from Iran, adding that the Iranian people by staging the book fair signal to the world that they are a nation of study, culture and prudence.

Mansur Vaezi said the statement was embodied in the enthusiastic presence of people in the fair.

Vaezi noted that the quality and performance of the 23rd edition of the major cultural event had improved compared to previous edition, adding that despite several current construction-work-related problems in the fairground, every edition of the book fair has been a stride forward.

Vaezi noted a conspicuous improvement in the levels of facilities available both to publishers and visitors. He however believed that a call for establishment of an independent venue for major cultural events in the country still resonated.

The official said his office has provided a diversified pack package of programs for the 23rd edition. "Every day, we will unveil several fresh achievements of the office," he elaborated.
