Department of translation established in Organization of Islamic Culture and Communications

An online department to sort out translation of Islamic thought- and humanities-related publications has been established in the Iran-based Organization of Islamic Culture and Communications, according to Director of the governmental body who stated the task of the department as updating of translations and prevention of duplicate efforts.

 
Mohammad Mostafavi said the department would present in its website any publications translated ever by the body into different languages, with themes largely on humanities and Islamic teachings.
 
Mostafavi said the online center was essential for authors and publishers mainly to prevent duplicate translation projects from taking place.
 
According to Mostafavi, the online center also bears the mission of book reviews.
 
Full details of 5,000 different titles are available through the website, according to the director who also expressed hope the department could make available full text of the titles online.
