Wartime memoirs get more attractive once penned professionally

An official in charge of publication of wartime memoirs has said that an impressive sale of such wartime memoirs books as "Da" and "Memoirs of Commanders" proves that even interesting memoirs would get attractive only when they put on a professional authorial garment.
Mohammad Taqi Khademi, deputy of the national Foundation for Protection of Values and Works of the Sacred Defense (1980-88) has made the remarks during an inspection of the 23rd Tehran Book Fair in an interview with the book fair's press office.
The military-cultural official said the 23rd edition of Tehran Book Fair was conspicuously expanded by a sizeable degree, adding however that a fresh, vaster venue was inevitable for the cultural event as space constraints loomed large over the major festival.
Khademi described the book fair as a major venue for putting the existing publications in the eyes of a would-be audience. He reckoned that the book fair has limited the possibility that a certain publication becomes overseen by its target audience, adding that the foundation has found it helpful to use the major event to promote a culture of sacrifice and martyrdom in society.
Khademi went on to say that on account of poor quality, sacred-defense-related proved lackluster and failed to attract due attention, however in the past two years, the luster began to restore after the above-named twin bestsellers got their debut publication.
"One would get a more attractive outcome once a job is assigned to professionals," he opined, elaborating by saying that a military commander might hold attractive wartime memoirs however they might prove much more impressive once they are penned by a professional author rather than the commander himself.
In another regard, Khademi termed it a worthy cause for Iranian translation circles to take on such publications.
