An Iranian philosopher described Tehran Book Fair as an extensive cultural table which carries books for different tastes in society.

Qolamreza A'avani, Head of Iranian Institute of Philosophy (IRIP) said the Iran-based book fair was distinct from its major rivals overseas including in Frankfurt, Damascus and Istanbul in that none of the foreign events might receive so large a welcome as Tehran Book Fair is accorded every year.
A'avani said the Iranian book fair was featured with a sizeable number of visitors and must roll an extensive table which caters to the needs of all sections of the public.
The philosopher then turned to philosophical content in the Iranian market and regretted that currently translated philosophical texts are of higher quality than authored ones.
He appreciated that latest philosophical ideas in Europe are immediately made available in translation in Iran, adding however that works of prominent western philosophers, including Hegel and Kant, are no longer popular with Iranian translators.
A'avani noted that on account of an existing, massive endeavor in philosophy, a next generation of Iranian scholars will take a large stride in authoring philosophical content.
