A deputy to IRI culture minister joined calls for changed of venue of Tehran International Book Fair by saying that the major cultural event was in dire need of an independent, accessible venue, merited with a cultural ambience.

Mohammad Azimi, Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance in Legal, Parliamentary and Provincial Affairs, called the book fair an invaluable phenomenon which was accorded a notable welcome by publishers from home and abroad, adding that to widen the cultural enthusiasm, several facilities are essential including an accommodative space and easy access.
Azimi believed that Tehran Book Fair must run independent and sustainable premises so as to avoid a waste of equipments and fund. He elaborated by revealing that large sums had been expended on establishment of new constructions within the current, loaned venue north of Tehran.
"A spending of such funds within a permanent venue would help further flourish the book fair," he suggested.
