5th Development Plan focus on expansion of E-publishing - Minister

Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology has said that a major agenda in the Fifth National Development Plan is to expand an Iranian-Islamic culture through E-publishing and vie the Internet.
Reza Taqipur said his ministry was assigned by the law to build necessary infrastructure for the undertaking, adding that the infrastructure both applied to telecommunications and IT sectors.
In the same regard, Taqipur said the ministry will undertake to grant university students and seminarians free access to publications online in the field of Iranian and Islamic culture.
Facilitation of conversion of print publications into E-text and expansion of available bandwidth were other agendas set by the ministry to this end, Taqipur said, adding that the mission is projected to take five years however he hopes his staffs would manage to expand the bandwidth before
