In the panel discussion staged in a pavilion of House of Authors set up in the 23^rd Tehran International Book Fair Tuesday, the Azeri professor-translator delivered a report on the records and activities of his university as well as Azeri Academy of Science, to which he was accredited.

 

He said all researchers in the center were engaged in Persian language and literature projects, notably translation of mystic literature, adding that in his doctoral dissertation, he had studied "Tazkora al-Oliya," masterpiece of renowned Persian poet, Attar Neiyshaburi, and discussed the effect of the classic work on next literary works.

 

Alizada, who has translated the masterpiece into Azeri, described translation from Persian as an onerous on account of a shortage of Persian dictionaries. He said Azeri translators mostly make enquiries online, adding that it would be a major help if existing online glossaries of Persian terms are offered in compact discs.
