Tehran book fair, a boon time for literary tours – Presidential advisor

Advisor to IRI President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad suggested Tehran book fair's organizers invite authors and cultural representatives of other nations to stage cultural journeys and group visits to the book fair, adding that authors mirror their nations.

Ali kbar Ash'ari said noted that the invitation proves more effective in international exchanges than state bilateral talks because the former the latter is subject to time-consuming bureaucratic procedures whereas foreign authors and poets are readily available after a brief bureaucratic application.

In the same note, Ash'ari said such journeys would also help governments to engage more favorably with one another.

The advisor said before any cultural tours are staged, necessary preparations should be made. He elaborated that authors on both sides can agree a common theme and subsequently hold a conference on the sidelines of the book fair to be capped with several agreements signed by all authors.

Ash'ari said the initiative proves useful in promoting Iran's cultural norms overseas since authors mirror their nations and pen whatever inspiration they take from society.
