An aide to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad recommended people contribute their idle books to mosque-based libraries.

Ali Akbar Ash'ari made the call while speaking to the press office of the 23rd Tehran International Book Fair on the sidelines of a panel on "what mosque-based librarians must know."

The aide in cultural affairs urged for expansion of titles in the libraries, and in the same note, recommended issue a nationwide call for idle books to be later granted to mosque-based libraries.

"I urge collecting any books which are left unused for any reason and then granting them to local mosques. This is also a promotion to book reading habit," the aide said.

Asked about the performance of the annual cultural event, Ash'ari spoke of a favorable arrangement of pavilions in the fairground, adding that the arrangement was advantage as it allowed people to freely inspect the book fair without unnecessary, disruptive concentrations in a specific point.

Also curator of National Library, Ash'ari said the National Library unlike several programs in the previous edition, has not planned any panel discussion in the House of Author however it offered several topics for discussion in the panels, including codes of publication and per capita reading time.
