A senior cultural official has called on TIBF authorities to maintain the content of the ‘Quarter of Century’ section in next editions of Tehran International Book Fair, albeit in a different name or framework. The special section, set up for a first in the 25th edition of the TIBF event, was dedicated to history and records of the past TIBF editions.
The ad hoc section was an essential drive so that major national cultural projects are documented and people are informed about their cultural heritage, Muhammad Azimi, Managing Director of Iran’s Cultural Fairs Institute (ICFI) told the TIBF press office Thursday.
Mr. Azimi said the special section would help future generations to get informed about the performance of previous editions of the landmark cultural event and know inspect firsthand the trend of developments of the major international exhibition.
“It also proves helpful as organizers of the book fair may find an opportunity to monitor and identify their shortfalls and modify their future agendas,” the ICFI managing director said.
Mr. Azimi proposed the TIBF authorities to extend the section, called ‘a Quarter of Century of Cultural Jihad (campaign)’ in full, to next editions of Tehran International Book Fair under the name of ‘a review of TIBF events.’
