A prominent Iranian Alim described the ‘Islamic Awakening’ section in the 25th edition of Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) as highly insightful for activists involved in the current regional political developments.

Ayatollah Zain al-Abedin Qorbani, the Friday Prayers leader of the northern Iranian city of Gilan was speaking to the TIBF press office on Friday.

The special section is dedicated to the ongoing Islamic Awakening movement in the Middle East and South African countries, otherwise erroneously called by the mainstream western media as ‘Arab spring.’

Ayatollah Qorbani said nothing might fill the hypothetical void of paper publications, adding that books may contain more information than other vehicles of information as it takes more time and preciseness to author and develop them.

Also serving as an Ayatollah Khamenei’s representative in the northern city, Ayatollah Qorbani said everybody who wishes to achieve intellectual and cultural growth is going to have to read book in extensive numbers and at the same time, be selective “because not all books deserve reading.”

The prominent Alim described the TIBF book fair as essential for the sort of people who miss scientific and cultural affairs and thanked God the Islamic Republic has managed to stage the landmark cultural event for the past 25 consecutive years.

Ayatollah Qorbani admitted that the book fair’s pavilions and halls were too numerous for an individual to cover however it was just enough not to lose the opportunity to inspect the cultural fair and look for subjects of interest across the fairground.

As for the ‘Islamic Awakening’ section, Ayatollah Qorbani said the ME and NA movement would not realize its original goals through mere lip services rather it must be studied and championed in such venues as the book fair.

He described the likely named section of the TIBF event as full of insight for activists and researchers in the field.

Following his inspection, Ayatollah Qaorbani met and talked with the TIBF president Bahman Dorri.
