A major national project to promote book-reading aptitude in society will soon be carried out in several pavilions in the 25th edition of Tehran International Book Fair, the TIBF press office reported on Saturday.
Called ‘Fajr,’ the book-reading promotional project will be carried out in the form of competitions in four pavilions in the 25th TIBF fairground called after the Persian Gulf and the three Iranian islands of Abu Mousa, Greater Tunb and Lesser Tunb.
‘Rasm’ publishing company is in charge of the project that has been credited as largest promotional project ever carried out in favor of the vital, social aptitude.
The thought to initiate the project came following a meeting between the Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei and the Iranian librarians and authorities in charge of libraries nationwide on July 20, 2011 where Ayatollah Khamenei seriously encouraged the relevant authorities to promote the aptitude in society.
By the project, it is meant to have people treat books as a fixed item of their consuming basket, according to the TIBF press office.
