More than 1.2 million people inspected the 25th edition of Tehran International Book Fair in three days, TIBF President Bahman Dorri told the book fair’s press office Saturday.

The massive welcome came despite extreme weather conditions in the past few days in Tehran so that people at some occasions braved showers of hail in their visit to the landmark international cultural event, the TIBF president added.

According to Mr. Dorri, the book fair hosted up to 210 thousand, up to 460 thousand, and up to 550 thousand of visitors in the first three days of the landmark event respectively from Wednesday, May 2 to Friday, May 4, when runoff parliamentary polls were held in Tehran for 25 empty seats of the Islamic Legislative Council or Majlis.

Also serving as deputy in the IRI Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Mr. Dorri expressed hope the 25th edition of the TIBF would set a record in terms of the number of visitors.
