An Iranian author expressed hope that the 25th edition of Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) and especially a TIBF-run marquee on the ongoing Islamic Awakening movement would serve as a link-up between the revolutionaries and authors so that outstanding works are penned on the regional revolutions.

Akbar Khalili was speaking to the TIBF press office Sunday while inspecting the marquee that has been dedicated to the case of the ongoing Islamic Awakening movement in the Middle Eastern and North African countries.

Talking about impact of literature on political developments, Mr. Khalili said the Iranian nation could make the voice of its justice-seeking revolution heard in the world in the past three decades through a revolutionary-motivated literature.

“We succeeded to wake up many countries in the world and motivate justice-seeking people worldwide to take to the streets in protests,” the IRI author said.

An author of themes related to the IRI Sacred Defense against the western-backed invading forces of Saddam Hussein (1980-88), Mr. Khalili expressed hope the ‘Islamic Awakening’ marquee provides revolutionary-minded authors to share experiences with one another.

“I hope so many books would be written on the regional revolutions by Iranian and foreign authors however it is necessary in the first place to have revolutionaries and authors contact with one another,” the IRI author said.
