TIBF president highlights the Sunday instructions of Ayatollah Khamenei

President of the 25th edition of Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) Bahman Dorri urged relevant authorities to work intensively to fulfill the instructions the Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei made during a tour of the landmark cultural event Sunday.
Mr. Dorri was speaking to reporters following the Sunday inspection that lasted 2.5 hours.
The TIBF president raised the case of excessive paper prices in the country and renewed the call made by Ayatollah Khamenei Sunday for a general mobilization to enhance domestic paper production and reduce paper prices.
During the Sunday inspection, Ayatollah Khamenei had described paper production as a steady, far-reaching national industry the effects of which would extend to future.
Mr. Dorri singled out several state bodies that were supposed to join hands to tackle the problem of paper prices, namely Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade, State Organization of Pricing Control, Central Bank of Iran (CBI), and related factories.
In another regard, the TIBF president touched on Ayatollah Khamenei’s instructions about humanities-related publications and said that there are many a useful title in the field on show in the 25th TIBF event that can duly take the place of foreign materials.
Dorri who also serves as a deputy minister in the IRI Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance pointed to Ayatollah Khamenei’s call on Sunday for a translation into foreign of major domestic publications and said that several major projects had already been started to that effect.
Up to 200 domestic titles have been selected for translation into foreign languages, Mr. Dorri said, adding that the translated versions once available would be published in high quality material and layout to be later offered to other nations through the IRI Organization of Islamic Culture and Communications.
Ten such titles have already been rendered into Urdu and offered to Urdu speaking people, the TIBF president said, adding however that just 200 titles were never adequate for having the rich Iranian thought and culture conveyed to the world and that the ministry would take on much larger projects in the near future.
