Booths and pavilions dedicated to children-related themes in the 25th edition of Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) are not authorized to offer unrelated items to the inspectors, TIBF' press office quoted an authority in charge as saying on Monday.

Borzou Saryazdi, director of several children-related marquees in the fairground, also cautioned that any violations would be subject of punishments.

The marquees of children’s books have usually been credited as a trouble-free section in the book fair, however every year, some pavilion holders embark on presenting unrelated items to inspectors who are mostly children and their visiting parents. The TIBF authority signaled a red light for the practice, warning any violating pavilions of a shutdown order in case it keeps breaching the regulations.

Unrelated items include different educational compact discs, animation materials, language teaching materials, and different puzzle works, Mr. Saryazdi said, adding that only those educational items are authorized to put on offer in the section that are deemed to be helpful to enhance individuals skills in under-seven children.

For older children, items on display must strictly be print publications, he added.
