IBNA- Iran's Culture Minister Ali Jannati stated that for the first time in Tehran book Fair, special forums for dialogue between representatives from various countries will be established to prepare the ground for cultural exchanges.
On the sidelines of the celebration of Women's Week in Iran, the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance told Ibna correspondent about the priorities of his ministry at the 28 Tehran International Book Fair: “The most important task which has been accomplished this year is entrusting the private publishers with a considerable portion of executive works in Tehran Book Fair.”
“In the previous editions of Tehran Book Fair, Culture Ministry was responsible for all the executive works of this event, but this year we have been engaged with policymaking, planning and monitoring affairs and other things have left for the private sector to do.” Jannati said.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Minister of Culture stated: “This year, concrete steps have been taken in the international section of Tehran book Fair, as we will both have more foreign publishers and better books. In fact, we consider this fair rather a cultural club than a place simply for introducing books. This approach will pave the way for cultural interaction between Iran and other countries.”
