TIBF president talks of joint Iran-Pak cultural programs

President of the 28th Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF), Sayyed Abbas Salehi has urged Pakistan for more cultural exchanges, adding that the two nations must draw up a package of programs to promote the exchanges.
The TIBF president made the remarks in a meeting with the Pak Ambassador in Tehran, Noor Mohammad Jadmani that was held in the fairground.
The TIBF chief said works of the late Pakistani thinker, Iqbal Lahori have already been studied in Iranian academies for decades and as a result, Iranians have developed deep bonds with his thoughts.
Salehi said for an exchange of thoughts to take place, Iran was ready to render top works of renowned Iranian authors and poets into Urdu.
Also, Deputy Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Salehi said expert talks must be held between the two nations’ cultural advisors before a blueprint is developed for future joint Iran-Pak cultural campaigns.
In another regard, the TIBF chief touched on Iran’s record of publication and said up to 70 thousand titles were published during the last Iranian year that ended on March 20, half of which first print.
The TIBF chief expressed hope the landmark international event would provide Pak authors with a favorable opportunity to get contact with those Iranian authors whose titles are available in Urdu.
