Italian embassy’s cultural attaché has acknowledged that Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) could be distinguished from other book shows in the world by the large number of people who inspect the cultural event on a daily basis, among other factors.

Carlo Cereti was speaking to the press office of the international book fair, adding the huge welcome may be found in few other book exhibitions in the world.

The cultural diplomat also cited a rise in the number of visitors to this year’s TIBF event, saying he had also inspected the previous two editions of the book fair but found the ongoing event more exceptional in that it displayed a more active participation on the part of the Iranian publishing companies and a more overwhelming visit on the part of the public.

Cereti also cited the availability of newest works of top world authors in the book fair as another distinctive feature of the international event.

The cultural attaché said his country had produced its debut show in the book fair, adding books on history, culture and art of Italy were on display in the Italian pavilion.

The diplomat expressed hope the landmark event would help expand cultural relations between the two nations.
