Georgian pavilion director admires Iran’s culture and literature

Director of Georgia’s pavilion in the international section of the 28^th Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) has acknowledged that Georgians keep a large interest for Iran’s culture and literature and wish to enjoy broader cultural relations with the Islamic Republic.

Shahin Aslani also told the TIBF’s press office that the landmark cultural event could play a significant role in enhancing the levels of cultural exchanges between the two nations.

The pavilion director said Georgia has joined the book show with over 3000 titles on literature and culture.

Aslani cited ‘Status of Georgians,’ Leopard-like-clad,’ ‘Achaemenid Ancient Inscriptions,’ and a number of children books in Georgian language as among major works the country has put on display in its TIBF pavilion.

The Georgian cultural activist said the nation holds Persian language and literature dear, adding Persian masterpieces, including Shahnameh (Letter of Kings), the masterpiece of the internationally-acclaimed Iranian poet Ferdowsi have already been rendered into Georgian.

Many works on Islamic studies and jurisprudential researches have also been translated into Georgian, according to the pavilion holder who highlighted ample cultural and historical commonalities between the two nations.
