Mexican ambassador to Tehran, Ulises Canchola Gutierrez has called for an active Iranian participation in annual book fairs that are staged in Mexico City and Guadalajara every year.

The senior diplomat made the call in a panel discussion on the state of cultural exchanges between the two nations held on Saturday on the sidelines of the 28th Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF).

The panel discussion was also attended by the TIBF Acting President and executive deputy, Amir Mas’oud Shahramnia.

In the meantime, the Mexican ambassador thanked the Iranian Ministry of Culture and the TIBF authorities for providing his country with appropriate facilities in the cultural event, adding the Mexican delegation in the book fair is comprised of eight major state or private bodies.
