Acting President of the 28tnh Tehran International Bok Fair (TIBF), Amir Mas’oud Shahramnia has deplored the existing low levels of cultural exchanges between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Mexico.
Shahramnia was speaking to a panel discussion on the state of cultural exchanges between the two nations held on Saturday on the sidelines of the annual cultural event.
The panel discussion was also attended by Mexican ambassador to Tehran, Ulises Canchola Gutierrez.
The TIBF authority cited common cultural grounds and common prospects of development as motivations for the two nations to expand their cultural exchanges with one another.
Shahramnia acknowledged that Iran had not managed to produce an active participation in the recent Mexican book fairs.
He expressed hope the panel discussion would help the two sides to further contribute to one another’s cultural events.
The TIBF authority’s remark came in response top Mexican ambassador who had earlier in the session called for an active Iranian participation in the annual book fairs that are staged in Mexico City and Guadalajara every year.
