Georgian ambassador admires Iranian reading aptitude

Georgian Ambassador to Tehran, Ioseb Chakhvashvili has acknowledged the strong of aptitude of the Iranian people to read books, saying he had not seen any other nation with such a strong tendency to take up books.
The senior diplomat made the remarks in a panel discussion on Georgia’s culture and literature held on the sidelines of the 28th Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF).
The panel discussion was also attended by head of the TIBF’s international hall, Qolam Reza No’ee, Iranian university professor, Bahram Amir Ahmadian, former Iranian ambassador to Georgia, Majid Sa’aber, and former Iranian cultural counselor in Georgia, Ehsan Khazaee.
Chakhvashvili said the two nations for a long period of time failed to contact with one another due on diplomatic stumbling blocks however they have now the opportunity to expand their mutual relations.
Next, the TIBF authority said Iran wishes to welcome Georgia as a guest of honor country in future editions of the international cultural event.
In the meantime, the Iranian university professor, Amir Ahmadian reviewed a history of Georgia, saying the country’s literature dates back to the 4th century. Ahmadian also said the Georgian literature burgeoned after coming in contact with Russian literature.
And, the former Iranian ambassador described Georgia as a community of various religions, adding Iran wishes to expand ties with the neighboring country.
