Book Launch Ceremony for the First Iranian Title Translated into Serbian

The book-launch ceremony for a Serbian of “The Sweet Jam” by Houshang Moradi Kermani was held attended by the writer, the translator, and the manager of The Candle and Fog Publishing House. Organized by the Islamic Communications and Relationships Organization, the event was held on the first day of TIBF 2018.
Houshang Moradi Kermani said, “I hope that the world will get to know us by our literature and not by our politics.” He also added, “Fictions are amongst the seetest and most persistent forms to represent the culture and language of a country.”
Mentioning that his works have been translated into more than thirty different languages, he stated, “Stories of Majid is also under translation into the Serbian language.” 
Regarding “The Sweet Jam” he explained, “This is the story of proliferation. If a mistake proliferates, too many people may be engaged in vain.”
He continued, “A boy named Jalal wakes up one day morning to notice that a jar of jam is not opened on the breakfast table.” Not his mother and not their neighbors manage to open it and finally they notice that all the jars in the country have the same problem which is due to a technical mistake in the factory.
This writer of the children and young adults said, “This is the story of the contemporary human and somehow represents sociological and anthropological aspects of culture.”
In this meeting, the manager of The Candle and Fog Publishing House said, “The Sweet Jam” is the first iranian title translated into Serbian which is a very good beginning..” He described Kermani as one of the greatest Iranian writers. 
Afshin Shahneh Tabar added, “Unfortunately, there shortcomings in the translation of Persian works and we must appreciate the very few number of translators who translate them into other languages.”
