Vienna Book Fair to introduce Iranian publishing sector

Iran’s Cultural Fairs Institute (ICFI) announced that our country’s publishing sector will be ‎introduced at 2018 Vienna International Book Fair which is scheduled for November 7 to ‌‎11.‎

The book fair is considered as the most significant event of Austrian publishing industry, ‎book and literature held in the cooperation of Austrian Union of Publishers and the private ‎sector of that country.‎

It will be the sixth time that Iran is participating at the Vienna international book Fair. Our ‎country’s stand in this event is based in an area of 18 square meters. 200 Iranian books on ‎a variety of subjects such as fiction, resistance (the Sacred Defense) literature, Iranology, ‎religion, children and young adults’ books, art and Persian language literature will be put ‎on public display at the Iranian stand. ‎

Introducing Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) and the Grant Plan which has been ‎initiated by Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance to encourage the translation of ‎Persian book into foreign languages; presenting Persian books for sale, meeting with the ‎Director of Vienna International Book Fair as well as the head of Austrian Union of ‎Publishers; unveiling ceremony for ‘The Book of Flower and Nightingale (The Selection of ‌‎12 Centuries of Persian Poetry’ in German and Persian; and inviting foreign publisher for ‎participation at Tehran International Book Fair are among the tasks scheduled to be ‎fulfilled during the 2018 Vienna International Book Fair at the Iranian stand.‎
