The former ambassador of Iran in Tajikistan believes that Tajikistan has full solidarity and unity with Iran, only conflicts should be stopped and allowed to grow on their own.

In a conversation with the news staff of the 34th Tehran International Book Fair, Ali Asghar Sherdoost said: Some publishers are active in the field of publishing Iranian books in Tajikistan and publishing Tajik books in Iran, but there is a need to invest in this area, as well as investing in the publishing industry of Tajikistan in general. The hardware of the publishing industry in Tajikistan should be reconstructed and modernized with government support.

He adds: Unfortunately, new and updated printing machines have entered Tajikistan in a very limited way, and the printing machines that are used in this country are mainly related to the era before the independence of Tajikistan, which do not have good efficiency and cannot meet the needs of today's book-reading and educated society.

The former ambassador of Iran in Tajikistan adds: One of the most important ways of cultural relations between Tajikistan and Iran is the coming of Tajiks to the Tehran International Book Fair, and this communication should be continuous. Tajikistan, Iran and Afghanistan are branches of the same tree and we must try to protect this tree.

He says: Tajikistan has complete solidarity and unity with Iran, and it is only necessary to stop conflicts and disturbing elements and let them grow by themselves.

The 34th Tehran International Book Fair with the slogan “the future is to be read” started on the 10th of May and will continue until the 20th of May 2023 in the Mosque of Imam Khomeini and simultaneously on ketab.ir.
