Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance at the opening of the thirty-fifth International Book Fair of Tehran emphasized that the revolutionary and popular government is developing cultural and artistic activities, and in the past year more than 10 thousand book licenses have been issued. Various officials made statements about the importance of the book and the exhibition. Tehran Book Fair will be held under the title of " We Read, We Build" from May 8th to May 18th at the Imam Khomeini Mosalla.
According to the news headquarters of the thirty-fifth International Book Fair of Tehran, the opening ceremony was held in Kushk, located in the Portico of Imam Khomeini.
In this ceremony, Mahmoud Esmaeili, Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Hojjjatoleslam Walmselmin Abdolhossein Khosrau, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution, Yaser Ahmadvand, Deputy Director of Cultural Affairs of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and Head of the thirty-fifth Book Fair, Ali Ramazani, The managing director of the book house and literature of Iran and the deputy and spokesman of this period of the Book Fair were present.
Mahmoudi Esmaeili, Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, gave a special appreciation to the organizers and participants at the ceremony and emphasized that the exhibition shows the unity and solidarity of the people and cultural institutions. He also noted the increase in cultural and artistic activities in the country and stated that in the past year, more than 10 thousand book licenses have been issued, which is considered the highest number in the history of the country.
Referring to the importance of books and reading in society, Ismaili emphasized that the Iranian people care about reading books, which has increased cultural and artistic activities. He added that in recent years, in addition to studying textbooks, a large number of people have been studying literature and scientific-specialist books.
The Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance also referred to the development of public libraries and the opening of the largest library in the region, emphasizing that the government is focusing on ways to support book audiences. He also hoped that with the efforts of the government, the level of knowledge and awareness of the people would increase through reading.
At the end of the ceremony, the directors and participants of the book exhibition were thanked, and it was expressed that the Fair was a manifestation of the righteous actions based on the people's assets; and the slogan "We Read, We Build" Shows that the future path of the country begins with reading books.
