Türkiye Programs to Promote Cultural Communications with Iran

Yusuf Fırıncı, Represented the Türkiye stand as the general director of libraries and publications on behalf of the Ministry of Culture and Truism in Ankara Türkiye. Fırıncı is in charge of the organization of the establishments of the Turkish stand in the TIBF. According to him, various kinds of books are presented by Türkiye including Literature, history, novels, and children’s books published by the publications who were also present at the stand.
Fırıncı continues that one of the aims of participation in the TIBF this year was to introduce Turkish culture to the people of Iran and other countries. This participation is another step forward for this country in the process of fulfilling its Publication grant program named "TEDA" which started in 2005, and by now has introduced and translated 180 books into Persian.
As Fırıncı puts it, Türkiye is looking forward to Translation of various Turkish books into Persian and also Persian books into Turkish. He further mentioned that if any Iranian publication wants to translate Turkish literature, "TEDA" program would offer some financial support to ease the process of publication.
In regard of this country's program, the stand aims to introduce Turkish works to Iranian publications and invited about seven Turkish publishers to the fair including Nobel Publishing House, Yedite Pe, Ozan, Zürafa, and Siyer. Noteworthy enough that each of these publications works in a different field.
Yusuf Fırıncı also mentioned that attending such a fair with such a program is in fact a communicating activity like television programs that could introduce a foreign culture in some way, but a book fair is more fruitful for understanding the real culture.
Another aim of Türkiye stand as Fırıncı states is an increase in cooperation between Iranian and Turkish publications, and also the Turkish government has made a cultural cooperation agreement with Iran. He continued: Such events increase mutual understanding, for example, I've seen people who took a 1-hour bus just to take photos with us. They want to know more about us and even invite us to their houses. I've also attended London book fair this year, and I didn’t see such attention. It makes me happy that Iranians like us.
Mr. Fırıncı as the organizer of the stand has also planned three interesting and novel cultural meetings for the enthusiasts which are "Turkish And Iranian Traditional Kitchen Culture", "Historical Commonalities Hidden In Eurasian Petroglyphs", "17th Iskender Pala, Modern Era, and Historical Novel". This stand has also held an opening cocktail ceremony and a publishers' meeting dinner in which both Turkish and Iranian publications were present and could make connections.
In his final words, Fırıncı noted that Mosalla is a very huge, unique, and beautiful construction and hoped that shortly, Eurasian countries could also take part in the exhibition and enjoy its warm and friendly atmosphere.
