Alireza Nourizadeh, Director General of the Office of Cultural Associations and Organizations at the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, spoke about the outcome of the first publishing industry fellowship. He stated: "Over the past two days, sixty Iranian books have reached the pre-contract stage in Arabic, Turkish, English, Kyrgyz, Russian, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, and Mongolian. They will be finalized after review by the Grant Scheme Secretariat."

According to the press center of the 36th Tehran International Book Fair, Nourizadeh added: "Today, the number of pre-contracts is expected to increase. The largest number of contracts are related to the publishers: Kanoon, Shahr-e Ghalam, Michka, Tooti, and Porteghal."

He noted that workshops were also held on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings titled "Stories Without Borders: Iranian Children's Books on the Global Stage," which included two panels featuring Iranian authors and illustrators. These panels explored the potential of Iranian children's and young adult literature and illustration.

Nourizadeh continued: "Today, three panels were held under the title ‘From Market to Market,’ where countries including Turkey, Kuwait, India, Russia, Brazil, Nepal, China, and Italy presented their children’s and young adult book markets to the attendees."

He added: "On the first afternoon, a friendly session was held where children's authors and illustrators had the opportunity to present and explain their works to the audience."

The 36th Tehran International Book Fair is being held from May 6 to May 16, 2025, under the slogan “Let’s Read for Iran” at the Imam Khomeini (RA) Grand Mosque venue. In addition to the in-person event, the virtual section of the 2025 Book Fair is also accessible via book.icfi.ir, providing an online book-buying option for interested readers.
